The Key Responsibilites:
- Establishing the technical vision for the team and provide advice on how to design and build against this vision
- Looking for opportunities to collaborate and improve overall technology outcomes for clients and colleagues, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Leading the team in defining and evolving our technical approach and mentoring other developers within the team
- Supporting product teams in adopting use of the Design System, ensuring design system tooling supports their needs and allows for ease of maintenance and updates
- Responsible for the successful operation and performance of the Design System team
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the product and team's development workflow
- Ensuring design system documentation is clear, consistent and can be easily consumed by all stakeholders
- Acting as a subject matter expert for Front End Development technologies
- Developing, testing and deploying new features to the Design System, writing excellent code accessible to everyone
- Potentially line management responsibilities for individuals within team in future
Job requirements:
- Prior experience working in digital industries
- Experienced in design system tooling (e.g. Storybook, ZeroHeight, Figma)
- Excellent with HTML/CSS (SCSS), JavaScript and Typescript
- Excellent working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, NextJS)
- Understanding CI / CD and Trunk Based Development
- Experience of setting development standards and performing code reviews
- Experience with Node.js, Webpack
- Experience with unit, integration, and end to end testing tools and practices (e.g. Jest)
- Able to write, assist in writing or reviewing technical documentation
- Self-driven to develop technical expertise and mentor other developers in the team
- Good knowledge and experience of Domain Driven Design concepts and other design patterns
- Experience with Agile methodology
